Archival Printing
Doug Remien prints his photographs from large format Epson printers with pigmented ink. Pigment ink prints are among the most beautiful print materials available. Their continuous tone gradations, superb detail, and rich saturated colors make them the preferred printing choice for fine art photography.
Pigment inks are also among the most archival. Framed behind regular glass, the combination of materials Doug uses yields longevity ratings of 85 years before visible fading occurs. With UV glass or lamination, longevity increases to 98 years. (As with all artwork, to maximize the archival treatment, it’s further recommended to protect it from airborne contaminants and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.)
